Rumour has it that after years of a beautiful frienship and radio brillance in the form of their show, Russell and Jon fell out. The first I heard of this was from our very own justaday in another thread and learning this was devestating to my funny bone. Before I'd found out about their radio show, I'd found a comedy love for both Russell and Jon seperatley but together, they had me in stitches. I can't express my love for them enough. Therefore, I'll happily live in defiance of this alledged fall out until we uncover some facts. And this is where this thread comes in. Since discovering this information, I've been doing a bit of "Jossell" detective work and found out a mixture of things, much of it contradicting and it all leaving me rather confused. So, I was wondering if starting a discussion here would lead to some kind of RHFC conclusion of the matter? hehe. (P.S: I've started this thread in a light-hearted, curious manner and have no intention of develling into their personal lives and creating any hate. Any evidence of this will result in the locking and deletion of this thread. *nods to rules: www.russellhowardfc.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=rules&thread=8&page=1*)Now we've got that bit out the way... I'll start with what I've found. I got from georgia, I think it was, that the rumour started on Facebook. So I had a route around on there, but all I found were comments saying how people had asked Russell when they'd met him on his tour about him leaving radio and Jon, and well Russ apparently said they'd fell out but it was more Jon's doing than his and that they weren't talking. Haha. I completley agree / will help you out with that georgia. And it looks like you may just be taking me up on that offer... When I first posted the link to those comments yenno I didn't read them all. On further reading it sounds like Russell was giving very mixed signals when fans were asking him about it, but also like Jon and Fordie (?) were the cuprits. However, that can be counteracted with this interview with Jon I found (via a Jon and Russ community. For those LJers amongst us, It's well worth watching: russell-jon-fan.livejournal.com ) Here's the link to the full interview: uktv.co.uk/dave/article/aid/628031Maybe Jon will have just saved himself from georgia's wedgie?

I hated it when he got involved in the show. That laugh. Errrgh. Shudder. He can have a wedgie too. I haven't "meet" Fordie yet, so I'm not yet aware of any of this georgia. And ha! You're not gonna let Jon get away with it lightly I see. But see what I mean though about confusing? The more info I find about this, the more I'll add to the thread. But if anyone knows/ finds something, feel free to add it.

It's the most confusing thing in the world. I'd love for them to still be friends, it is so upsetting to think that they aren't. They used to live together! On one of the later shows they hinted that the radio show was pretty much over, saying about it being the 'winter' of the show. And then the next week they came back and said it was fine, that they had sorted out their differences. So it was hinted there that they had fallen out, but nothing more was said about it. But no-one really knows, I don't think Jon has ever talked about their supposed falling out, but he's so cute, I wouldn't want to ask in case I upset him . In his last show, he thanked Russell for the opportunity, but only briefly, and didn't play any of the clips from the days of Russell and Jon in his montage. Jon's getting more famous now, with 8 out of 10 cats, and his book, so hopefully more people will google him, and find out about the show and Russell. So maybe it might come out in an interview somewhere. They have a mutual friend in Dan Atkinson though. He is part of the writing team with Russell on RHGN, and is also in Git, which is a comedy trio with Jon, Dan and Lloyd Langford. So I guess their paths have to cross some day. Well, I hope they will.

It's really sad. They were so close. I was listening to the 2006 xmas ep the other day and Russell punching the cake Jon bought him. Just genius. But you could definitely tell the change in the show towards the end. Russell's last show was really sad. Such tension. I would imagine they must have bumped into each other since the split, with the mutual friends they've got. I hope it's not too awkward. *Sniff* Poor wee fellas. And yes Matt Forde - a terrible idea to include him in the show. Such a fake tit-faced goon. I miss Sam! Remember his xmas presents?! ... I think Russell described it as 'something made from straw and pubes' ... Aahhh .. memories.

^ He did! I listened to that podcast the other day when I was really ill georgia. Oh Russell :') Makes me terrified to think what he made of Knitted Russ! haha. It's the most confusing thing in the world. I'd love for them to still be friends, it is so upsetting to think that they aren't. They used to live together! ^ My thoughts exactly! Thank you girls for the posts. Some interesting stuff. I love the fact I learn so much from you guys. I'll have to listen to more of these podcasts! To add another brach to this tree however, a lovely guest called NR posted this is the other thread yesterday... I really don't think those two have fallen out, I reckon someone put it on wikipedia and it's been blown out of proportion. Jon mentioned Russell under the alias of Sue in Clifton when he took over the show, and recently he did an interview on a local radio station which I e-mailed into, and he spoke pretty fondly of Russell I think they're still good chums, so don't be devastated! I'd heard about this alias too, vaguely, however I didn't know the details like the name they'd used. It makes me happy to think this is the truth. I mean Wiki has had a lot of stuff wrote about them on it. If we believed it, then they were actually in a realtionship together and Russell owns a pet giraffe! (I think he secretly edited that last one in himself. )

NR here again. Despite my positive comment before about Jon saying nice things about Russell, people have commented on the Jon facebook page that Russell has commented on their fall out at gigs. If this is true, it makes me ridiculously sad. I get the feeling it's not just a rumour though, oohhh I'm sad

Hey NR, nice to see you again. Oh, I've never heard Russ mention Jon, but then again every gig is different in some way, right? Unless it was part of a joke and he changes Jon's name and I haven't realised? I just presumed this was a subject that was "never to be spoke of again". And that they took extra care to ensure their paths never crossed. (I think proof for me would be if Jon turned up on Mock The Week in Russell's abscence! ) Were these comments on the official Jon FB page or a fan one NR? It's like a roller coaster of emotions this topic, I still don't know what to believe. :') If it's true, I'll be sad too!

It's the Jon Richardson appreciation group, not the official one, check it out. I don't think comments that Russell made were part of his routine, but apparently someone asked him who his favourite guests would be to a Christmas party, and he said Jon if they were on better terms. Something must have happened, but I'm optimistic if they have fallen out, someone will knock their heads together and we'll see sone more top class comedy from Russia and Jon fingers crossed! As regards to mock the week, I read an interview with jon saying that he had been invited onto the show but didn't want to because of the whole testosterone fuelled atmosphere...hmmm

If they did fall out they are friends now, Jon has a new one-off documentary on Channel four (not sure when it airs) about OCD to find out if he has it or if he's just a perfectionist. A description of the show ( www.channel4.com/info/press/programme-information/jon-richardson-a-little-bit-ocd) said: "As well a range of sufferers, Jon talks to his friends, former flat-mates, including comedian Russell Howard, and his own mother in a bid to discover the nature of his compulsions." ;D

Yes Jon has this new documentary about OCD and Russell is in it talking about when they used to live together, so I'm assuming he wouldnt go on Jon's documentary if they werent friends or not speaking. I'm excited to watch the documentary as this is the first thing ive seen them in together since their radio show, so everyone be watching it on channel 4 tuesday 24th at 10pm!
